About Us
Consultancy service
We are acting as mentors and consultants to other organisations within arts and health to help them on their journey. The consultancy takes on average about 2 hours (with possible follow up sessions if required) and is something that we charge an hourly fee. These sessions are tailor made for the clients and includes a visit to our studio and a chance to meet with our members. We are happy to share any documents and policies that may be of use to other organisations.
Currently we are collaborating with South Shropshire Furniture Scheme in offering consultancy sessions for emerging social enterprises. Through this collaboration we are able to offer advice sessions at a subsidised rate. The evaluation at the end of the session will enable us to point you in the right direction for potential further help and support. Please contact us for more details.
Examples of our consultancy service are:
Devon Guild of Craftsmen: One days consultancy to find out about The Project Group and becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC), and to explore whether this method of working might be appropriate for the Guild.
Towers Above Community Arts Group: This participatory arts for health and well-being group, based in Telford, works with vulnerable adults and those who are most at risk of social exclusion.

'.....an excellent mentoring meeting was had with The Project Group, with people who have been working within the Arts and Health remit for many years. They know what there on about! Very informative valuable advice and information sharing throughout the whole meeting. I would recommend anyone who is serious about developing their art practice and business in the remit of Arts and Mental Health, to use their service. They are very serious and dedicated to what they do and are very willing to advice others on their journey. .......with great emphasis on taking one step at a time!! Thanks again to all.'
Wyldwoods: A registered charity set up in rural Shropshire to offer 'creative arts for well-being' for all sorts of people from all walks of life.
Steph from Wyldwoods explains:
'We asked for some help and advice from the Project Group as we were looking to re-evaluate and improve our services to people with experience of mental health issues. Firstly we were invited to an opening of a sponsored project in the town of Oswestry. We are very impressed with what we saw. Afterwards Jo talked to us about the processes and the time scales for the Project Group so that we had a better understanding. We were able to discuss some of the issues involved with ensuring that our literature was more effective in getting the correct information across to our target service users and the professionals within the mental health sector. These discussions were very helpful indeed.
Later in the year we asked for further assistance from the Project Group regarding contracting and fundraising opportunities. We were even furnished with an example of a successful application for funding which we adapted for our own use. Although our subsequent application using this model was unsuccessful it was still very useful to go through the process with the Arts Council. Gabi was also helpful in providing a list of possible charitable trusts which Wyldwoods may be eligible to apply to.
We were also given the contact details of someone who could come to Wyldwoods to help us in making sure that we were suitably prepared as an organisation to ensure our professionalism. This too has proved beneficial.
The Project Group have been very helpful to us and very open about how they have made their project work for them and how we can adopt and adapt their model for our own use and future development.'
